Our Mission
ARF's primary mission is to rescue animals from city animal kill shelters. For more than 20 years we have been caring for homeless pets and finding them new homes. We are non-profit, relying completely on public funding. The majority of our money is spent on veterinary bills. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, given a physical, and tattooed (except for kittens) for identification. We are foster-home based to give our rescued animals a loving environment until we can find them a forever home.
We need and appreciate your generous donations. We also accept donations of materials such as dog and cat food, animal bedding, collars, leashes, food bowls, dog and cat toys, and animal treats. All donations are tax deductible!

Every Saturday in the month: Come see our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, 41st between Yale and Sheridan, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
September 19: Join us for the 2010 Get Your Licks on Route 66 Tour, from 12 noon until 5 pm at the Wal-mart Super Center, 10938 South Memorial Drive.
It will bring family fun and excitement with the spacious, self-contained, air-conditioned mobile unit. Dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies will be available for adoption. In addition to finding loving homes for the animals, ARF rescues animals from local kill shelters and has been doing so for more than 20 years. This year ARF's goal is to rescue more than 500 animals that would, otherwise, have been euthanized.
Adoption fees cover vaccinations, spay/neutering, veterinary health checks, and identification tattoos.
The Animal League's 33-foot Mobile Adoption Unit is voyaging to eight states, partnering with local shelters and rescue groups. The "Get Your Licks on Route 66" Tour is raising awareness to the plight of homeless pets and vital services that participating animal shelter and rescue partners provide to their communities, as well as engaging pet lovers through humane education programs.
